Meet our founder and author, Blanee-Jo Fabean.
Hi! Welcome to EmpowHER, where my dream for the women in my life comes true! I am currently in my senior year at West Virginia University, pursuing my Bachelor's Degree in English and two minors-- Criminology and Law & Legal Studies. I plan to attend law school next fall and continue towards my dream of becoming an attorney of Criminal Law. This project was first created in my Multimedia Writing course at WVU and allowed me to bring some of my most passionate elements to light. My goal is to share my growing knowledge, courage, and empathy for women who have experienced some of the most tasking issues, such as rape, domestic violence, physical or verbal abuse, and sexual assault. More often than not, these are topics we are not taught to protect ourselves from, or at least until the damage has already been done. I hope to empower women to know their rights and their protections and be able to speak up both before and after a crime takes place.

EmpowHER is an informational website dedicated to raising awareness of crimes against women. Our mission is to empower young women ages 16-22 with knowledge and resources to protect themselves and their rights. Our team is passionate about improving the lives of women, and we strive to provide the most accurate and up-to-date information available.

Founded as a college course project, EmpowHER is a multimedia platform spreading awareness of the two things our author and founder are passionate about -- Women & the Law with an innovative and modern twist of AI assistance. Far too often, are young women in our country deprived of the knowledge, courage, and resources to protect themselves from harm's way. This platform is meant to build an ever-growing community of generational-breaking women who stand up for their constitutional rights against assault and for equal legal protection without the stigmas that are created in our social-media patriarchal world. Together, we will make a difference. For our friends, sisters, mothers, grandmothers, and daughters. We can be the change!
